Excursion with Sven von Loga as part of the event series "On the Way in the Volcano Park".
A hundred thousand years ago, volcanoes spewed glowing masses of lava into the air and massive basalt lava flows poured over the landscape and changed it. Centuries of mining created fascinating gorges and left behind rustic evidence of past technology. Geologist Sven von Loga will guide you on this three-hour excursion through volcanism and historical mining in the Eifel millstone district. First, a somewhat steeper volcanic cone is climbed, while getting to know its volcanic form treasures and then, from the very top, a magnificent view over the volcanic East Eifel is enjoyed. Afterwards we go down into an extraordinary wild quarry landscape.
